Welcome / Purpose The original idea for this website, Bankjr.com, came from a mother. She saw the need to teach her children what money is and how it works in our lives. In 1999, she suggested to her son, creative director at Zions Bank, that perhaps a website could be developed to make such information available to help teach kids in school. Zions Bank wants students, their teachers and parents to appreciate money and make it their friend. They need to learn to use it and numbers in general with confidence. Neither numbers nor money will ever go away or our desire or need to use them. Research has shown that young people determine their attitude about how they value and handle money by the time they finish the 5th grade. So let's enable them to make better decisions about their use of money. Concerned about the rate of both business and family bankruptcies in Utah (leading the nation), Zions Bank wants to make a major contribution to our community. Greater understanding of these topics will benefit students, parents, teachers and in general, our entire community. So welcome to "Bank Junior." We will continue to provide supplemental information, which we hope will contribute to your curriculum. Your comments and suggestions for revisions or additions are always welcome and needed to make this site as useful as possible.
