Teachers, welcome to Bank Junior's Budgeting Tool!!

Everyone needs to learn how to manage their own money. Regardless of where or how you learned, budgeting is a key ingredient in managing your money. Here is an easy tool for you to use to teach students how to manage and budget their money more carefully.

Now, when the students click on the link below, they will go to the software, which uses Excel spreadsheets.

Steps to get them going...

  • Have them set up their own private account with just a name and password.
  • Have them follow the instructions to change the names of the categories if they want to and get some tips re: how to use the software.
  • Help them study the Example page.
  • Using the "Get Started" page, have them keep track of their income and expenses for the first month.
  • Doing that will give them the "totals" information needed to set up the next sheet for Month 1 as they put in their budget maximums for each category. Then they can start keeping track of the next month's income and expenses. If they say they don't have allowance or regular income, they can use imaginary numbers and still learn how to budget. When they put numbers into the cells, the software does the addition or subtraction for them.
  • As they progress through a month, they can easily see how much they have left in each spending category. That should help them avoid overspending in any one category. Help them learn not to go "in the hole." No red ink!

Now click below and enjoy teaching them how to manage their money, quickly and easily online.

Let's start budgeting
